The Basilisk - Basiliscus basiliscus
Jesus Christ Lizard

Description
-
The Jesus Christ Lizard, or Green Basilisk may grow up to 2 feet in length (61 cm).
-
Males of this species have high crests on their head and back, using them to impress the females in mating season.
-
Their long, whip-like tail allows this creature to perform a marvolous feat; walking on water.
-
No one can mistake the bright green ridden throughout the Green Basilisk.

Behavior and Diet
-
The Green Basilisk are inded omnivors. They survive on diets of plants, insects, friut, and small vertebrates.
-
The Basilisks lay eggs during breeding season that normally produce 4 "batches" of eggs, and 4 eggs in each "batch". Although there is an abundant of food in the Basilisk habitat (insects) the Basilisk juveniles often fend for themselves, and as a result only %60 survive.
And of course, these special creatures use their rear feet, and constatly churn them, to create tiny air pockets preventing this creature from sinking in the water. Whether gravity in the end prevails, this lizard completes one spectacular feat;
